Official Notice     31 January 2009.  

Due to a reduction in enquiries and orders caused we believe by the current economic situation, and a principle supplier opting to concentrate on other projects, Department V Ltd will cease commercial production of the Velociraptor until further notice.

We have put an enormous amount of effort into the boat and are very sorry to be in this position, but as is often the case in business, things outside of ones control can have serious implications. The 'credit crunch' may have affected a number of potential customers, but what is certain is that our suppliers are commercial businesses with their own issues to deal with, and are free to make their own decisions. 

We hope to find a buyer for the mould tools who will be able to support the existing owners and take the design forwards, and up until then we intend to maintain the tooling ourselves so that spare/replacement parts can be made as required.  We have no intention of leaving the current owners without a source of spare parts, and it is quite possible that the Velociraptor will be being manufactured again soon.

In the mean time, we have a number of parts available for potential home built Velociraptors - and indeed some spares which are universal to any moth design.
